COPY RIGHT PRESET

After a busy and eventful outreach event in December, we were looking forward to slowing things down a little in January. We took a group of 20 people down to Rocky Point this month and took on several construction projects. Along with painting a house, and working on the campsite, we also put a lot of work into a house that will soon be home to a family of 10 people. The work included some roofing, framing, and even digging a trench for the soon to be septic system. After working throughout the morning we went to the food bank where we packaged together 50 bags of food for local families. It is always difficult distributing the food because, unfortunately, the food runs out before the hungry families do. Despite this, the group stayed committed to working towards the building of new relationships and spreading the love of Christ. Along with the projects this trip, our team enjoyed going through the book of 1 John. It is always encouraging spending time in God’s word amidst the physical work of the projects.

We would like to thank all of our January volunteers and everyone who continues to support this ministry. Please enjoy the pictures below, and to see a full slideshow-

December ‘08 Mexico Outreach Event

I would like to thank everyone who came down with us on the December Mexico trip. There were a lot of great things that came from the Outreach Event. Roughly 3,000 people came to the outreach event and through a variety of ways heard about Jesus and His love for them. Four different organizations worked together to put on the event and were able to give over 1,500 people shoes, and 1,200 bags of food. There were also over 2,000 kids that were able to get a Christmas present. We ran game booths for over 4 hours, giving kids the chance to hold cotton candy with one hand and play ring toss with the other. There were also hundreds of kids who took home there first picture with Santa.

The event offered participants a variety of ways to enjoy themselves while also displaying performances from four local churches. These churches provided skits, music, puppet shows and worship music. Then, hundreds of people were around the stage when Ignacio Alvarez, our guest speaker, presented the gospel. 40-50 people came to the stage when he invited them to start a relationship with Christ. As they came to the stage local pastors and church leaders, along with Ignacio, prayed with them and told them how they can get plugged into the local church.

It was a great trip and we really enjoyed working with the other organizations involved: Family of God Church, Association for international Ministries, and OneMission. We would also like to thank Ignacio Alvarez not only for the amazing work God did through him, but for his willingness to continue to work with us in developing unity within the local church in Rocky Point.
