Introduction

As I prayed that God would speak through me before I began to write this I also prayed that you would be able to see past my flaws as a writer, overlooking them and in turn seeing the true message that I am trying to convey and encourage. The Bible is very clear about our purpose of being on this earth; when Christ was asked “What are the most important commandments of all?” he inevitably came up with the same message woven throughout the Bible: Love God and Love People.

This is what we are told to do and this is what so many desire to do. The opportunity still lies in the carrying out of this message. As citizens of the United States of America we live among the wealthiest people in the world and are members of one of the richest and most powerful nations in the world. Our potential to change the world is inconceivably vast, so many are capable of so much more than they realize. Perhaps as you read this you are reflecting on desires your heart has harbored. Perhaps God has blessed you artistically, or musically, or maybe you have always had the disposition to feed the poor. We are all blessed in many ways and with many desires, some of which we are yet to discover. So how are these gifts being used to obey Gods greatest commandments?

For some they have already put into action Gods plan, for others it is on that continually growing To Do list. The vision of the non-profit group“Love God Love People” is built into the name. The goal of the organization is to unite Christians throughout the Phoenix-Metropolitan area and neighboring Mexico to reach out to the lost, to serve those who need to be served, and to change the lives of people and their communities in ways that no one thought possible. Hebrews 10:24 instructs “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”

By wiping away the barriers separating Christians throughout the valley we will do just that. Individuals will be freed to shine as God has always meant them too. We will speak beyond just words, as our actions will radiate our beliefs. Through building relationships with Christian churches, schools, clubs, book stores, bands, clothing lines, and other businesses, groups or organizations it is the desire and intent of ‘Love God Love People’ to unite these bodies of Christ’s water, and then like a wave, to push forward together in a movement keyed in on doing two things:

Loving God and Loving People

In Him,

  1. Last Sunday at Highlands, I met Erika Wadas and we struck up a conversation about LGLP.

How do I get involved?!?! :) I first heard about this from a youth leader, James, but couldn’t go with him a few weeks ago.

    LGLP is amazing. Just…what you’re all doing. It’s just…right. I’m babbling, sorry. :)

I can’t wait to be a part of your movement. I’m tired of people (me definately included) saying what they believe; we need action.

  2. [...] encourage you to check out their web site. Explore their About LGLP page, go to the prayer requests page and pray with them for the needs of those they work with, and [...]

  3. Dear Chris Maddox,

I’d love to have you listen to this sermon on the subject of humanism. http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=10180222445

It’s considered to be one of the greatest sermons to be recorded in this century by fundamentalists. Please hit me a line about what you think of the sermon and I’d love to chat about what your most basic beliefs are.

    Many Blessings
